The Zimbabwe National Army has urged the public not to panic or misinterpret the ongoing military field training exercise in Harare, saying it is part of routine drills conducted across the country.
The training exercise, which began on Tuesday and ends on 6 June, is being carried out in Glenview, Glen Norah, Kuwadzana, Dzivarasekwa, Mt Hampden and Westgate. It involves movement along Solomon Mujuru Road, formerly Kirkman Road.
In a statement, ZNA Director of Army Public Relations Colonel Hlengiwe Dube said, “The Zimbabwe National Army wishes to inform the general public that one of its units is conducting a Field Training Exercise in Harare during the period 03 to 06 June 2025.”
She added, “The Exercise will be conducted during day time and will not affect the general public’s daily routine.”
The public was urged not to panic, with Colonel Dube stressing that “the Training Exercise is part of routine training by ZNA units.”
She reassured citizens that such exercises are normal practice by army units to enhance operational readiness and public safety.
