Highlanders FC has been rocked by a sudden leadership shake-up following the resignation of Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kindman Ndlovu, who stepped down with immediate effect on June 26, citing internal interference and concerns over reputational harm.
In a strongly worded resignation letter addressed to Club Chairman Mr. K Mhlophe, Ndlovu stated:
“It has been an honour to serve the club in this position and I leave it having done the best I could though under difficult circumstances.”
Ndlovu pointed fingers at club executive member Finance, Mr. N Khoza, accusing him of undermining internal processes and reviewing past financial decisions without proper consultation.
“Mr N Khoza has been seen reviewing documents signed and financial transactions made before he assumed office and identifying areas that need clarification which he quickly refers to as fraudulent activities…without proper consultations.”
He further revealed that Khoza was allegedly “interviewing staff that work under me and requesting them to write reports on issues he has not discussed with me.” Ndlovu described these actions as part of a worrying trend aimed at sidelining him from executive processes.
Another concern raised was Khoza’s attempt to gain access to the CEO’s office, which also serves as the filing room for critical club documents.
“I am more worried with the recent trend by Mr N Khoza of requesting access to the office of the CEO…for key documents which have in the past gone missing or been adjusted.”
In his concluding remarks, Ndlovu said:
“Above all I am stepping down to minimize the damage to my image and reputation that I may suffer if I continue as acting CEO under these circumstances.”
