Police Arrest Suspect in US$4.4 Million EcoBank Heist

Police have made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the US$4.4 million armed robbery that rocked EcoBank in Bulawayo last year.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the arrest of one suspect linked to the case. The individual is expected to appear in court this morning. Further details were not immediately disclosed.
The daring robbery, executed in just 149 seconds by a gang of seven armed suspects, remains the largest cash heist in Zimbabwe’s history. The gang intercepted the transfer of over US$4 million from the bank to a security van, leaving banking staff and bystanders in shock.
