The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested key members of a suspected armed robbery syndicate linked to a string of violent crimes across the country.
The suspects, Mthandazo Ndlovu, Armad Ncube also known as Jan, and Solomon Ngwenya were caught between 24 and 26 July, following investigations by the CID Homicide Department.
Police say the trio is connected to at least seven armed robberies that took place in Harare, Gweru, Bulawayo, and Mutare between July 2023 and July 2025.
During the arrests, officers recovered a visor pistol with live rounds, 50 rounds of 0.38mm ammunition, additional bullets, US$3,100 cash, and two 48-volt lithium batteries.
Among the major robberies was a US$50,000 theft in central Harare on 16 June, a heist at a Bulawayo service station where over US$31,000 and a vehicle were stolen, and a robbery in Magwegwe where R83,000 and a cellphone were taken.
ZRP expressed their gratitude to members of the public for tip-offs that helped crack the case and further urged citizens to continue reporting crime through their hotline or WhatsApp platforms.
