Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA) has joined hands with the government and local authorities in the national clean-up campaign by donating 25 bins and actively participating in this month’s clean-up held on the first Friday of August.

The donation and participation come as part of the monthly National Clean-Up Day, a government-led initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility across the country.

Speaking during the event, ZBCA representative Joyline Zindaga said the gesture was a way of giving back to the community and supporting national efforts to keep cities clean.

“As a way of giving back to the community,we decided to be a part of the initiative through participating in the clean up campaign and donating bins,” said Zindaga.

In response, Acting Director of Health Services in Bulawayo, Charles Malaba, commended the association for its support and highlighted the growing involvement of various stakeholders.

While expressing gratitude for the bins donated, Malaba stressed the need for continued support in waste management, especially the clearing of illegal dumps and rubble in and around the city.

“We appreciate the bins but they should not shop Herr but continue by helping us clear ruble and dumps around the city,” Malaba stated.

The National Clean-Up Campaign was launched in 2018 by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and has since become a monthly fixture, encouraging collective responsibility in maintaining clean communities.
