Bulawayo Arts Awards Set for 8th Edition on November 8

The Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) have officially set the date for their 8th edition, with a grand ceremony scheduled for 8 November 2025, at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre (ZIEC) Hall 3.
This year’s awards are embracing the theme of the number 8, with key dates and deadlines revolving around it.
Artists can submit their entries online at byoartsawards.org or in person at Studio 10 in the Bulawayo Art Gallery and Sabela Studios at ZITF. Submissions close on 8 September 2025 at 8p.m., when the first batch of sponsors will also be announced.
Organisers say the nominees will be revealed on 8 October 2025, alongside the Nominees Dinner and the unveiling of the People’s Choice Award sponsor.
Since 2017, the Bulawayo Arts Awards have celebrated talent across music, theatre,literature, dance, film, and fashion, as well as lifetime achievements and cultural icons.
The last edition in November 2023 saw Gabz Hotter Fire win Outstanding Radio Personality, while legends like Ezra “Tshisa” Sibanda, Thabani H. Moyo, and the late rapper Cal Vin were honoured.
The fan-driven People’s Choice Award has become a defining tradition. Previous winners like Insimbi ZeZhwane received a car, while Mai Mwamuka and Msiz’kay were awarded fully serviced housing stands.
