Zanele Tops Gospel Charts with Hit Album

Gospel singer Zanele Ngwenya is enjoying a breakthrough moment with her new album “Uphakamisa Izinga”. The project’s title track has soared to the number one spot on the Skyz Metro FM Gospel Chart.

The 14-track album, inspired by the biblical story of Esther, has struck a chord with many listeners, carrying a message of divine elevation and favour.

Speaking to Skyz Metro, Zanele Ngwenya shared how her musical journey began in childhood during her primary school years where she would sing in school choirs and in the praise and worship team.

“I used to have dreams of performing before large crowds, and I would wake up with a new song. That’s when I knew singing was a calling,” she said.

Her debut album, “Siyaphambili ngeVangeli”, was released in 2022 at Brethren in Christ Churchill in Queens Park, with encouragement from her reverend, Mbongeni Ncube .

Drawing inspiration from gospel greats like Dumi Mkokstad and Hlengiwe, Zanele says she is still in the studio working on new music and hopes to collaborate with some of the big names in the industry.
