Brian Chari struck a superb unbeaten century as Amakhosi 1 Cricket Club edged Eastern Titans by five wickets in a nail-biting finish at Masvingo Sports Club.

Eastern Titans batted first and posted 260 runs, with former Zimbabwe international Donald Tiripano top-scoring with 51. Captain Ernest Masuku led Amakhosi’s bowling with three wickets.

Chasing 261, Amakhosi stumbled early, but Bright Phiri’s 54 and Tafara Mupariwa’s quick-fire 40 kept them in the hunt. Chari then held the innings together, finishing on 112 not out to seal victory off the very last ball.

The result means Amakhosi 1 have booked their place in next season’s National Premier League after confirming a top-four finish.

In other matches, Jonathan Campbell starred with bat and ball as SOGO Rangers beat Queens 1 by 76 runs in Kwekwe, while Rimuka Cricket Club overcame Takashinga 1 by four wickets in Harare.
