Local performing arts powerhouse, Inkululeko Yabatsha School of Arts (IYASA), has revived its internationally acclaimed climate change production “How is the Weather?” for a second run due to public demand.

Speaking to Skyz Metro FM, IYASA Director Nkululeko Innocent Dube said the play, a collaboration with Berlin-based Theatre Strahl, is a unique fusion of theatre, music, and dance centered on climate change a pressing global issue.

“This is actually an ongoing program and an ongoing  theater piece, theater with music, with dance, and a very interesting topic, climate change,” he said. “Working with young people, this is one topical issue that we need to deal with if we are going to make sure that they understand what the world’s future is going to look like.”

The production, which premiered in both Zimbabwe and Germany in May 2023, began its second run on September 8 and will continue through to 22 September 2025 in Germany.

Owing to its relevance and reception, Dube confirmed that the show will return to Zimbabwe between the 15th to the 30th of November with scheduled performances in Bulawayo, Masvingo, and Harare.

Dube emphasized that IYASA’s work extends beyond entertainment, focusing on creating impactful art that resonates with communities locally, regionally, and globally.
