In an entertaining series opener today at Queens Sports Club, Zimbabwe posted 211 for 3 batting first against Namibia in the first T20 International game.
The hosts were powered by brilliant innings from Brian Bennett, who scored 94, and Tadiwanashe Marumani, who made 62. Their partnership set a strong platform for Zimbabwe.
Chasing 212 to win, Namibia could not keep up with Zimbabwe’s all-round performance. Blessing Muzarabani and Sikandar Raza led the bowling attack, claiming two wickets each, while Richard Ngarava, Brad Evans, and Wellington Masakadza picked up a wicket apiece.
Zimbabwe secured a 33-run victory, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The second T20I is set for tomorrow at 13:30, where the Chevrons will aim to seal the series with a win.
