Bulawayo City Council (BCC) has revealed that it received over half a million US dollars from its parking partnership with Tendy Three Investments (TTI) between January and August 2025.

Speaking during a budget consultation meeting, Finance Committee Chairperson Dumisani Nkomo reported that council earned US558,336, R140,398, P8,107 and ZW$5.2 million from the TTI parking system.

In an interview with Skyz Metro, City Finance Director Tennyson Mpunzi said part of the funds have gone towards road rehabilitation and settling debts with suppliers.

“You find we have some delays in settling debts, TTI comes in handy there,” said Mpunzi. “If you delay in paying those debts, you incur interest.”

Mayor David Coltart added that the money is used used to maintain roads in areas where TTI operates.

In terms of the agreement with TTI we can only utilize those funds in areas where TTI is operating. So we can’t take those funds and use them in Luveve for example,” said the mayor.

Council noted that 6,978 parking bays have since been marked, with revenues being applied in line with Sections 189 and 190 of the Urban Councils Act (Chapter 29:15), which governs the use of parking fees.
