Tragic Incident in Inyathi: Son Murders Mother

Police in Inyathi have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a shocking murder case that took place at Masimini Village in Kenilworth on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Mpunzi Nhlalo, is said to have fatally assaulted his mother, 40-year-old Gugulethu Ndlovu, with a log following a misunderstanding at their home.
Police say the suspect, who is reported to be mentally challenged, struck his mother several times all over the body, leading to her death on the spot.
The body of the deceased was taken to Inyathi District Hospital for post-mortem, while the suspect remains in police custody.
ZRP has urged families caring for mental health patients to seek regular medical support and counseling to prevent such tragedies.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
