The Zimbabwe national football team, the Warriors, have received a strong message of support and pride from Deputy Minister of Sports Recreation, Arts and Culture, Emily Jesaya, who will lead the government delegation accompanying the “Warriors” to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

In her address, Deputy Minister Jesaya praised the team’s resilience, teamwork, and determination, saying their journey so far has already made every Zimbabwean proud.

“As our team prepares to compete in the group stages against Egypt, Angola and South Africa, I want to remind them that they carry the hopes, dreams and best wishes for the entire nation. But more than that ladies and gentlemen, I want them to know that they are already winners because they have shown resilience, team work and courage to get this far,” she reassured them.

She described the tournament as more than just a competition, calling it an opportunity to represent Zimbabwe with “integrity, humility, and pride.”

“Remember, it’s not just about results but about representing Zimbabwe with integrity, humility and pride. Our strength lies in our unity, our faith in the support of everyone back home,” encouraged Jesaya.

She added that the Warriors were already winners, having demonstrated courage and commitment on the road to qualification.

As Zimbabwe prepares to face Egypt, Angola, and South Africa in the group stages, the Deputy Minister reminded the team of the strength found in unity and faith.
