Zimbabwe’s power utility, ZESA Holdings, has assured the nation that electricity supply will remain steady and reliable throughout the festive season, with minimal disruptions expected.
Speaking to the media, ZESA General Manager Stakeholder Relations, Dr George Manyaya, said the improved outlook was the result of strategic interventions and strengthened generation capacity across the country.
He attributed the positive forecast to better plant availability at Hwange Power Station Stage 1 and 2, ongoing improvements at Kariba Power Station, increased contributions from independent power producers, and regional imports through the Southern African Power Pool.
Dr Manyaya also highlighted that the traditional industrial shutdowns during the holidays are expected to reduce national demand, easing pressure on the grid.
ZESA says it has activated its 24-hour National Contact Centre and placed technical teams on standby to respond to emergencies.
Dr Manyaya expressed gratitude to stakeholders and the public for their support throughout 2025, a year that saw notable improvements in electricity supply.
