Midfielder Melikhaya Ncube has parted ways with Highlanders Football Club to join city rivals Bulawayo Chiefs, who continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026 Premier Soccer League season.
The 28-year-old had long been linked with a move to Amakhosi Amahle following their promotion to the top flight, and the switch has now been confirmed. Ncube originally joined Bosso from Bulawayo City after an impressive 2021–22 season, where he scored seven goals and provided more than four assists.
He went on to establish himself as a key figure in Highlanders’ midfield, even captaining the side on several occasions.
Commenting on his recent transfer move to Amakhosi Amahle, Ncube said that he is excited to join the ninjas and expressed his readiness to fight for the team’s badge.
“Its a great moment for me to join the Ninjas and become not only part of Bulawayo Chiefs but continue to be part of Bulawayo. Im thrilled to face this new challenge,” said Ncube.
“To the Supporters. I promise you happiness throughout the season- my main goal is to fight for the badge.”
Ncube now joins a growing list of new Chiefs signings, including teenage sensation Dwayne Musona, defenders Elvis Moyo, Kelly Tokala and striker Brian Muza, as the club builds a squad aimed at top-flight survival.
