Zimbabwe Cricket has brought in legendary West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh as bowling consultant ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Walsh has already begun working with the senior men’s team as preparations intensify for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February and March next year.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni said the appointment is aimed at boosting the team’s technical strength on the global stage.
He said Walsh’s vast international experience, especially in fast bowling, will play a key role in sharpening Zimbabwe’s attack ahead of the World Cup.
Makoni added that Walsh’s previous work with Zimbabwe’s women’s team means he understands the local cricket environment.
Commenting on his recent appointment, Walsh said he is excited by the opportunity and believes Zimbabwe has strong potential if the team works together and adapts well to conditions.
Zimbabwe will face Oman, Australia, Ireland and Sri Lanka in Group B.
