The City of Bulawayo has introduced a new 96-hour weekly water shedding timetable, replacing the previous 130-hour schedule.

The adjustment follows improved water inflows into the city’s supply dams and stability at pump stations, allowing for more predictable distribution.

Residents are urged to check their schedules according to the reservoir supplying their area.Surburbs served by Criterion Reservoir, including Nketa, Nkulumane, Pumula South, Tshabalala, Newton West, and Emganwini will experience water cuts from Thursday 5 p.m. to Sunday 5 p.m., and Friday 5 p.m. to Monday 5 p.m.

Other reservoirs, including Magwegwe, Rifle Range, 6J, Hillside, and Tuli, have similar rotating schedules affecting suburbs such as Entumbane, Mpopoma, Richmond, Hillside, Killarney, and the CBD. Residents are advised to plan ahead.

The 96-hour programme was approved at a council meeting on 7 January 2026 and is effective immediately. Residents are urged to plan accordingly and stay informed.
