The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has confirmed that Lower Six classes for the 2026 academic year will begin on the second of February, 2026.

The Ministry instructed all provincial education offices and schools to ensure that heads of schools, teachers, parents, and pupils are fully informed about the start date. The directive applies to all provinces nationwide.

The ministry also clarified that fees for Lower Six pupils will be charged on a pro-rata basis, in line with the approved Term One fees for each school. This means the fees will be calculated based on the number of days remaining in Term One relative to the total number of days in the term.

All schools have been directed to begin Lower Six classes on the stipulated date without exception.
