The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association says its long-serving Executive Director, Polisilie Ncube Chimihini, has stepped down with immediate effect, a move that comes as the organisation faces growing scrutiny over governance and royalty management.

In a statement released on Tuesday, ZIMURA’s Board of Directors said Mrs Chimihini concluded her tenure after a period of engagement and reflection, during which she indicated her intention to pursue other professional opportunities.

Mrs Chimihini served the association for more than three decades, playing a central role in strengthening copyright administration in Zimbabwe and representing the country on regional and international platforms, including as Chairperson of the CISAC African Chapter.

Her departure comes amid increased public debate around transparency, accountability and reforms within ZIMURA.

The Board thanked her for her service and said operations will continue under existing management, with further updates on leadership expected.
