The Imiklomelo kaDakamela Festival will this year partner with Highlanders Football Club as part of the club’s 100-year celebrations, in a move organisers say will add significance to the cultural event and broaden its appeal.

Preparations for the festival are progressing smoothly, with organisers expressing confidence in delivering a successful event.

Speaking to SkyzMetro Fm, Coordinator, Desmond Ntini said planning is on track, guided by traditional leadership, the organising committee and a team of volunteers.

“Planning for the festival is on track because we are guided by traditional leadership, the organising committee and a team of volunteers,” he said.

Ntini noted that response to the festival has been positive, with many people confirming attendance while there is growing interest from individuals and groups who want to take part through exhibitions.

“We have had a good response from people, some confirming attendance and others who want to take part through exhibitions,” he said.

In addition to the partnership with Highlanders Football Club, this year’s festival will also collaborate with Cricket Ekhaya, further enhancing the event’s profile.
