Woman appeals for financial assistance for daughter to undergo heart surgery

A woman from Nguboyenja surburbs in Bulawayo, is appealing for financial assistance to take her child to India to undergo a special heart surgery.

Patience Dube says that she needs about US$4 600 for her one year and nine months old daughter, to undergo a heart operation after she was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a heart condition.

In an interview with SkyzMetro FM, Dube said her daughter has been suffering from the condition since birth and was on medication while awaiting to undergo surgery, which is not available in Zimbabwe, but in India and other countries.

“My daughter has been diagnosed with the heart condition since birth. Her heart has a hole in it and the oxygen in her heart veins works vice versa. We were told that this condition can only be treated through surgery which is only available in India and other overseas countries.

We were given a medical quotation for the surgery which amounted to $US4 600 while the transport and accommodation expenses were at US$2 400, bringing the total amount needed to US$7 000. We are appealing for financial assistance from well-wishers,” Dube said.
