Afro Jazz Artist Tiae Releases New Album Ithuba

Afro Jazz singer and songwriter Tiae, born Tiambiwi Shoko, has released his new album titled Ithuba and will be available on all digital forms as from today.

The nine-track project, produced in partnership with SoMuch Music, is now available on all major digital platforms. Ithuba, which means opportunity, blends Afro Jazz rhythms with soulful storytelling, and features songs such as Izilingo, Phenduka, and Ngithethelele.

SoMuch Music Director, Dumisani Gumpo, says the album reimagines some songs first written in the 1980s, and will be promoted both locally and internationally.

Tiae says the album is a deeply personal project that reflects his roots and life journey. He hopes the songs will inspire, connect, and heal listeners.

“I’m excited and grateful to SoMuch Music for giving me this opportunity. Ithuba is a chance to share my story, my roots, and my music with the world. Every song comes from the heart, and I hope it inspires, connects, and even heals people. This is a new chapter for me, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Born in Kezi, Tiae started his career in school choirs, later performing with groups such as Ezomdumo, Indosakusa The Morning Star, and Jeys Marabini’s band. He has shared the stage with top artists and performed in Zimbabwe, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

With Ithuba, Tiae marks a fresh chapter in his career, aiming to take Zimbabwean Afro Jazz to the world stage.
