A man is currently battling for his life at the United Bulawayo Hospital after he sustained serious injuries in a road rage incident that occurred along 12th Avenue and Fife Street on Monday.
According to the Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube, the police arrested a 43year old man Lawrence Rakonyana accused of attempted murder after he went into a fit and stabbed the complainant .
” The accused who was driving his Mercedes Benz was parked at Pizzeria Restaurant parking Bay seated in his car and it was the time when the complainant driving a Honda fit and was in company of a male adult aged 32 years who is the informant in this case , failed to negotiate the parking whilst he was manoeuvring the vehicle into the parking bay, and hit Rakonyana’s vehicle with his rear bumper ” , said Inspector Ncube .
A heated argument arose between the two and Rakonyana withdrew a knife from his car and went to stab the complainant on the left side of his rib cage and the armpit before speeding away from the scene.

The informant managed to ferry the complainant to United Bulawayo Hospitals for medical attention and his condition was reported as serious.”
The accused person drove along Matopos Road due south, at Famona fire brigade opposite Trade Fair he lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road. He hit the informative signs and stopped about 100metres from the tarmac road. The accused person then phoned his friend a male adult aged 45 years to come and rescue him.
A report was made leading to the arrest of the accused person and the investigations are in progress .
Inspector Ncube appealed to the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands.
” We appeal to members of the public not to take the law into their hands as such actions result in unnecessary loss of lives ” , said Inspector Ncube.
