The finalists of Miss Rural Zimbabwe Matebeleland North pageant say they have started preparations for the national final competitions and are ready to make their communities proud.
21 year old Melania Sibanda , from Ward 16 Lupane East, who was crowned Miss Rural Zimbabwe Mat North , said she is honored to represent her community and will do everything for her community as she is gearing up to win the national competition finals to make them proud.
“Lento bengingazenzeli ngedwa kodwa bengisenzela abantu bakithi ukuthi beziqhenye ngami . Ngiyenza konke okusemandleni ami ukuthi ngiphumelele kumncintiswano eyama finals”.
Mr Rural Zimbabwe Mat North, 20 year old Thakazela Mayisa from Kennelworth in Bubi District , said he was focusing on making a great impression at the finals .
” I am really happy to have been elected as Mr Rural Mat North . I am now preparing for the finals through working harder so that i make the people proud”.
The pageant which was held on Saturday in Gwelutshena also saw 19 year old Silethamba Moyo from Nkayi crowned as the 1st Princess while , Mandatembo Chasombwa from Binga District was crowned the 1st Prince.
Sandisiwe Ndlovu from Nkayi Ward 14 , was crowned 2nd princess together with Avoid Sibanda from Sikhobokhobo who was crowned 2nd prince.
Another finalist was Miss Personality , Nomvelo Khumalo who is 17 and resides in Jotsholo.
Miss and Mr Rural Zimbabwe founder , Sipho Mazibuko however , has high hopes that Melania Sibanda will win the upcoming national modelling finals as she described her as a very good model who is beautiful, intelligent, outspoken and confident.
The date of the finals is yet to be announced .
