In the 6th match of the Cricket pro50 being held in Harare. Matebeleland Tuskers beat Mashonaland eagles by 72 runs to take them to second on the log. Mash Eagles rued the decision to send Tuskers in to bat first as 6 of the Tuskers batsmen went to double figures. Alvin Chiradza scored 49,Milton Shumba 47, and Captain 47 in their total of 260/7.
Eagles in reply could only get 188 all out in 40 overs. Enerst Masuku took 3/34,Tawanda Dzikiti took3/32 and John Nyumbu reaches a major milestone as he took his 100th 1st class wicket in his figures of 2/39 in their 72 run victory.
In the other match Southern Rocks set 235 runs in their match against the Midwest Rhinos. Rhinos chased down the target with 4 balls remaining for a 3 wicket win.
Zimbabwe have been boosted by the recovery, from illness of star batsman, Brendan Taylor ahead of the second Twenty20 International cricket contest against Pakistan at Harare Sports Club on Friday, with another veteran Craig Ervine ruled out of the rest of series by a calf muscle strain. Tarisai Musakanda, one of the players placed on standby has been called up as a replacement for the injured Ervine.
Zimbabwe managed to restrict Pakistan to 149 runs on Wednesday, but their batting let them down as they lost wickets in clusters, failing to build an important second partnership.
Zimbabwe are looking to bounce back with a win and level the series to make the third and final T20I exciting on Sunday.
