Mountaineers recorded their first victory of the 2020/21 Zimbabwe Domestic T20 cricket competition when they beat Rhinos by 23 runs, at Harare Sports Club, on Monday.
Rhinos won the toss and chose to bowl. Wellington Masakadza top-scored with 56 of 39 balls as Mountaineers made 144 runs for the loss of nine wickets.
Donald Tiripano took 4 wickets for 13 runs as the Mountaineers bowlers made light work of the Rhinos batsmen as they restricted them to 121 runs for a 23 run win.
In the days earlier match, Southern Rocks’s managed a seven-wicket victory over Tuskers.
Sent in to bat Tuskers managed to set a total of 141 for the loss of 6 wickets with Captain Brian Chari top scoring with 47 runs.
In reply the Rocks led by a consecutive 50 by Tadiwanashe Marumani with 63 runs of 42 balls secured the victory.
Mash Eagles take on the Mid west Rhinos then Southern Rocks will later play Mountaineers on Tuesday.
