Norman Mapeza names squad to face Ghana

Zimbabwe National Football team Coach Norman Mapeza has named a 24 man squad for the upcoming Fifa World Cup qualifying game against Ghana which is set to be played on the 9th of October in the country’s capital Accra.

Four British based players have been included in the squad as the venue for the game is not in the Britain’s COVID 19 redlist with negotiations to get the players for the Harare tie still ongoing.

The 24 man squad includes goalkeepers Martin Mapisa, Talbert Shumba and Washington Arubi.

Defenders include Wigan Atletic Captain, Tendayi Darikwa, Bounemouth’s Jordan Zemura, Brendan Galloway, Bruce Kangwa, Alec Mudimu, Onismor Bhasera, Rahman Kutsanzira and Houston Dynamo’s Teenage Hadebe.

Amongst the midfielders is Aston Villa’s Marvellous Nakamba , Stade de reims’ Marshall Munetsi , Blessing Sarupinda, Farai Madananga, Kelvin Madzongwe, Khama Billiat, Kudakwashe Mahachi , Never Tigere, Perfect Chikwende and Thabani Kamusoko.

Leading the frontline is the warriors national team captain Knowledge Musona , Knox Mutizwa and Terrence Dzukamanja.

The Ghana fixture is set for the 9th of October with the return leg to be played at National Sports stadium 3 days later.
