The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested a 49 year old woman from Victoria Falls for unlawful possession of dagga with a street value of ZW$48 100 000.
The woman identified as Patricia Ncube who resides in Mkhosana was arrested on Wednesday.
According to the National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi detectives received information to the effect that the suspect was in possession of dangerous drugs which lead to the Canine Unit raiding the suspects’s residence.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms arrest of Patricia Ncube for unlawful possession of dagga on 28 April 2021. Police detectives received information to the effect that the suspect was in possession of dangerous drugs and acting on the information, they teamed up with the Canine Unit and raided the suspect’s residence.”
Police recovered 14×50 bags of dagga weighing 481kgs .
““They arrested the suspect and recovered 14x50kg bags of dagga weighing 481kg with a street value of $48 100 000 in the suspect’s bedroom,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
The suspect is expected to appear in in court soon.
A/C Nyathi applauded members of the public for supplying information on criminal activities to the police.
“We applaud the general public for supplying information on criminal activities to the Police . In the same vein drug peddlers will be accounted for and the law will take its course” ‘ said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi .
