The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (Zinwa) is set to launch an instant billing system which seeks to resolve queries from clients who were not getting their bills on time.

According to Zinwa Spokesperson Tsungirai Shoriwa operators will be able to print bills instantly using network enabled devices.

“We are introducing a new billing system called instant billing were our operators will now move with network enabled devices that will allow them to issue out bills to clients the moment they finish reading the meters. We have been having challenges with clients who were not receiving their bills at all , this will ensure that this problem is solved.”

In the past Zinwa staff would take meter readings manually and compile returns which were then sent for processing before bills were printed. The bills were then returned to the stations ready for distribution to consumers .

“Under the new system resources that were used to distribute statements will now be channeled towards improving service delivery ” , said Shoriwa
