The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has announced a national clean-up campaign taking place today, focusing on clearing storm drains and cleaning road servitudes.

The campaign, themed “Litter-Free Storm Drains and Road Servitudes,” aims to reduce the risk of flash flooding and prevent the spread of diseases during the rainy season.

The initiative targets illegal waste dumps, discouraging open waste burning. It involves community participation, with residents engaged in educational clean-ups and collaboration with local authorities to ensure regular maintenance of storm drains.

By addressing litter and ensuring clear drainage systems, EMA hopes to create safer, healthier communities. The public is urged to maintain cleanliness by using designated litter bins.

This clean-up is part of broader efforts to ensure a sustainable environment and enhance public safety across Zimbabwe.
