Kingsbury Estate Sets a New Standard for Luxury Living in Matabeleland North

The commissioning of the Kingsbury Estate Gatehouse by Radar Properties in Umguza District, Matabeleland North, has been hailed as a milestone development, setting a new benchmark for luxury living and modern gated communities in the province.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution in Matabeleland North, Honourable Richard Moyo, described the project as a symbol of progress, partnership, and confidence in the region’s economic future.

Minister Moyo said the development is a clear signal that Matabeleland North is “open for business,” adding that such private sector initiatives aligned with government policy are vital in achieving Vision 2030, Zimbabwe’s target of becoming an upper-middle-income economy within the next five years.

Kingsbury Estate is part of the ambitious King’s City project, a flagship development expected to deliver 10,000 residential stands, 19 schools, four medical facilities, 15 commercial centres, and an industrial park. To date, 1,615 stands have already been developed and are ready for allocation, with some homeowners set to receive their title deeds at the commissioning.

Managing Director of Radar Properties Walter Zimunya speaking at the ceremony, noted that more than 90% of the construction materials and labour used in the project were sourced locally, directly benefiting the community and boosting the provincial economy.

“This is not just about homes, it is about building communities,” he said. “The estate represents a new standard of luxury living, combining secure residential spaces with modern infrastructure and economic opportunities.”
