Government of Zimbabwe to Host Second Edition of Public Service Retirement Conference in Bulawayo

The Public Service Commission of Zimbabwe is set to host the second edition of the Public Service Retirement Conference, themed “Retirement Planning in Action: Transforming Insights into Realities.”
The conference will take place from September 24-26, 2025, at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo.
According to the PSC, the conference aims to promote awareness on the importance of retirement planning and provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss retirement preparedness and develop effective retirement programs.
The conference will also focus on promoting financial security, health, wellbeing, and social support for retirees among other things.
The government recently increased the retirement age for civil servants to 70 years, effective January 1, 2025, with the option for early retirement at 60.
This change aims to allow for continued contribution to national development while also ensuring financial security for retirees.
