18 Year Old Tsholotsho man arrested for rape

An 18 year old man from Tsholotsho appeared before Tredgold Magistrate’s court, facing charges of raping a 10 year old girl he had been living with.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the incident occured in sometime around September, when the man ordered the victim into a room and forcefully undressed her, before forcing himself on her. The victim made multiple attempts to fight him off and flee but was threatened.

He then went on to lock the girl in their kitchen after commiting the crime. In his defence, the accussed said he spent most of his time at work in September and stated that there are no locks in any of the huts in their home.

The man said he could not have done this ordeal because he had been going to work since August.
