Zimbabwe’s creative industry takes centre stage at this year’s National Arts Merit Awards, with Skyz Metro FM presenter Taboka Nleya announced as one of the hosts, a role she says is about amplifying local stories beyond the red carpet.
Nleya will co-host the prestigious National Arts Merit Awards, widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s biggest celebrations of artistic excellence.
Speaking ahead of the event on Saturday, Nleya described the opportunity as more than a career milestone, saying it is a platform to celebrate Zimbabwean creativity and elevate authentic African storytelling.

She further stated that her approach will focus not only on fashion and glamour, but on the deeper stories behind the nominees, highlighting the dedication, resilience and passion that shape Zimbabwe’s arts sector.
