A newly installed 5,000W solar power system by Megatron is set to transform learning conditions for children at Chief Dakamela’s homestead in Nkayi.
The system, coupled with a Starlink satellite internet kit, now provides reliable electricity to power lighting, Wi-Fi, and essential household appliances creating a stable and conducive environment for uninterrupted study.
Prior to the installation, limited access to electricity had significantly affected the children’s ability to learn, particularly as the Starlink system, a critical tool for online education, could not function consistently without a dependable power source.
Speaking in an interview with Skyz Metro FM, Megatron Marketing Director Oscar Muzambindo said the solution was designed with sustainability in mind.“The solar system is designed for long-term sustainability and ease of maintenance,” he said.
Muzambindo added that the broader objective of the initiative is to empower rural communities by ensuring children have access to essential educational resources, regardless of their location.
The project marks a significant step in bridging the energy gap in underserved areas, while directly supporting improved academic outcomes through access to digital learning tools.
