The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that around 15 assault cases have been reported in Bulawayo since the beginning of this week.

Among these cases, one involved domestic violence, triggered by a disagreement over a mobile phone between a husband and wife.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges related to domestic conflicts in the city.

Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele emphasized the wider consequences of such violence, noting that victims often face medical expenses and other burdens following assaults.

Police are urging members of the public to avoid confrontations when disputes arise and to walk away to prevent situations from escalating into violence.

In addition, the ZRP has issued a stern warning against carrying dangerous weapons, highlighting that possession is illegal and constitutes a serious offence.
