Bhila Inspired to Create New Music After Imiklomelo ka Dakamela Recognition

Zimbabwean musician Bhila says he is working on new music inspired by his recent experience at the Imiklomelo ka Dakamela Awards, where he was honoured for his contribution to the arts.
Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, Bhila described the platform as significant in uplifting artists and exposing emerging talent, adding that such recognition plays a key role in growing Zimbabwe’s creative industry.
“The platform is significant in uplifting artists and exposing emerging talent and I feel that it plays a key role in growing Zimbabwe’s creative industry,” he said.
The musician noted that his work is largely inspired by real-life experiences, pointing to the vibrant atmosphere at the awards ceremony, where attendees celebrated in traditional attire, as a moment that sparked new creative ideas.
“My music is inspired by my real life experiences, I also got inspired by the vibrant atmosphere at the recent awards which sparked a new sense of creativity within me,” he said.
Bhila added that the experience has already influenced a new song he is currently writing, drawing from the emotions and cultural pride he witnessed at the event.
“As mentioned the Imiklomelo ka Dakamela Awards have influenced a new song which I am currently working on, which was highly inspired by what I experienced and saw,” he said.
