Zimbabwe’s national handball teams have begun a 10-day intensive training camp in Harare as part of final preparations for the Zone Six Championships to be held at the Olympic youth development Centre in Lusaka, Zambia.
The camp marks the last phase of training for both the men’s and women’s squads ahead of the regional tournament.
Sessions are being held in Harare and will run through next week. The training includes tactical drills, conditioning work and practice matches against local club sides.
Zimbabwe will compete against other Southern African nations at the Zone Six Championships. The tournament dates and full fixture list have not yet been released by organizers.
Coaching staff said the camp allows selectors to finalize the traveling squads and address areas identified during earlier preparatory matches. Players were drawn from clubs across the country following provincial trials held last month.
The Zone Six Championships serve as a key regional competition under the African Handball Confederation. Zimbabwe’s teams last competed in the event in 2024.
