Iran’s football federation has accused United States authorities of revoking its allocated ticket quota for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a move it says has prevented supporters from securing seats for the country’s group-stage matches.

The Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) said the decision affected ticket allocations for matches against New Zealand, Belgium and Egypt, despite FIFA regulations that reserve a portion of tickets for participating nations’ supporters.

According to FFIRI, some fans had already purchased tickets and made travel arrangements before the allocation was allegedly withdrawn, leaving them uncertain about attending the tournament.

The federation has called on FIFA and tournament organisers to intervene, arguing that all participating nations should receive equal treatment.

Neither FIFA nor United States organisers had publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication. Iran also says it continues to face visa and logistical challenges ahead of the tournament.
