The Fight Inequality Alliance (FIA) Zimbabwe has commemorated the inaugural International Fight Inequality Day with a youth workshop in Bulawayo aimed at raising awareness of economic inequality and social justice.

Held at the YWCA, the event brought together students and young community leaders to discuss wealth distribution, corporate accountability and the need for greater economic inclusion.

National Coordinator Nqobizitha Mlambo said the strong participation by young people showed growing concern over economic inequality and the need for collective action to address it.

The National Coordinator added that ,”The commemorations are part of the national alliance activity which is the first of its kind in the world with the objective being meeting a group of young people, some in Universities with most of them being from your Townships in Bulawayo; Nkulumane, Luveve, Pumula, Lobengula and Mzilikazi which are typically low income areas because ideologically, as FIA, these are the groups we work with.

“Organisers said the workshop was designed to equip young people with a better understanding of the causes of economic inequality and encourage them to take part in advocacy efforts for a fairer and more inclusive society.
