Highlanders Football Club have fired head coach Kelvin Kaindu with immediate effect following a poor run of results, the club confirmed in a press release on Monday
“The club has parted ways with head coach Kelvin Kaindu,” read part of the statement released by the club’s Executive Committee.
The decision comes after an underwhelming campaign that has left Highlanders in 9th place on the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League table with 23 points from 17 matches. Bosso trail log leaders Simba Bhora by 12 points, with the top side sitting on 35 points.
“The above changes have been necessitated by the recent streak of unsatisfactory results,” the club said.
Highlanders also announced that First Assistant Coach Try Ncube will take over on an interim basis, assisted by Second Assistant Coach Agent Sawu, while the rest of the technical team remains in place.
The club concluded by thanking Kaindu for his service: “The club wishes coach Kelvin Kaindu the best in his future endeavors and thanks him for his contribution during his time of service.”
