The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of two key suspects linked to the US$4 million Ecobank armed robbery that shocked Bulawayo in October last year.
Abraham Temayi Vumbunu and Elijah Temayi Vumbunu were arrested on 5 July in South Africa in connection with the high-profile heist, which took place on 3 October 2024.
Authorities say extradition processes are now underway to bring the suspects back to Zimbabwe to face justice.
ZRP Commissioner Paul Nyathi also confirmed that investigations remain active, with efforts ongoing to track down other suspects still at large.
The ZRP has reassured the public that it will continue to pursue all individuals involved in serious crimes even those who attempt to flee across borders.
The police have also urged the media to report responsibly on the matter, as new leads and developments are still unfolding.
More details on the case will be released in due course.
