Hwange Teen Bashes Husband After Cheating Allegations

A 19-year-old woman from Makwika Village in Hwange has been sentenced for brutally assaulting her husband and a neighbour following a domestic dispute sparked by allegations of infidelity.
The incident occurred on 2 June 2025 after the husband confronted her over messages found on her phone. The altercation turned violent when the teenager slapped him, grabbed his private parts, and dragged him into the kitchen before pouring boiling water over his lower body, causing severe injuries.
A neighbour who tried to intervene was also attacked and sustained burns from the boiling water.
Appearing before the Hwange Magistrate’s Court, the woman was convicted of domestic violence and assault. She was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment for domestic violence and 24 months for assault, with 12 months suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
The remaining 24 months were suspended on the condition that she completes 630 hours of community service.
