“She Leads” Programme to Kick Off Tomorrow in NkulumaneBy

The She Leads mentorship programme, designed to empower schoolgirl prefects, is set to launch tomorrow, 12 July, at the Senator’s Constituency Office in Nkulumane. The initiative aims to connect young girls with accomplished women leaders to inspire and guide them in their leadership journeys.

In an interview with Skyz Metro FM, Nkulumane-based journalist and youth advocate Irene Moyo said the event will feature prominent figures such as veteran radio presenter Bongi “Diamond” Maphosa and Mrs. Ndebele from Heights Catering and Events, who will provide both mentorship and meaningful networking opportunities.

“We have Mrs. Ndebele, who is a businesswoman, the founder of a very beautiful catering and events business called Heights Catering and Events that exceeds the boundaries of Bulawayo,” said Moyo.

Moyo stressed the importance of parental involvement, calling on parents to affirm their daughters’ leadership roles and invest in their development by ensuring they are well-groomed, supported, and encouraged.

Moyo urged parents to support their children by learning the responsibilities that come with being a prefect and by offering encouragement, reminding them that they are capable leaders.

She also expressed hope that as the programme expands, it will include more girls from diverse communities across the country. The initiative is expected to play a key role in shaping Zimbabwe’s next generation of confident, capable female leaders.

“I really encourage the youth to be dedicated and invest in making sure they are mentored in becoming who they want to become,” said Moyo.
