The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) in Bulawayo are investigating a sudden death case after the body of 42-year-old Thembelani Moyo was discovered on Tuesday morning in a bushy area near his home in Kensington.
An 18-year-old boy made the discovery while he was fetching water from a nearby homestead. He quickly alerted neighbours, who informed Moyo’s aunt before a police report was filed.
The body reportedly had bruises on both hands and blood in the mouth. According to family, Moyo had a history of epilepsy and was known to abuse alcohol.
His body has since been taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for a postmortem to establish the exact cause of death.
Police are urging members of the public, particularly those with chronic health conditions, to avoid alcohol and substance abuse, which may worsen their conditions and endanger their lives.
