ZANU PF to Host Anti-Drug Abuse Marathon

ZANU PF will host an anti-drug abuse marathon this Saturday, the 23rd of August, at Archers Sports Club in Bulawayo.
Runners will compete in 23-kilometre and 10-kilometre races, while a 5-kilometre fun run will also be held. Winners of the main races will receive prizes, while fun-run participants will be awarded certificates.
Speaking to SkyzMetro FM, ZANU PF Provincial youth spokesperson Addington Mpofu said the event is not only about raising awareness but also about rehabilitation for those struggling with drugs and alcohol.
Mpofu added that, on the same day, the party’s Secretary for Lands will launch a piece of land reserved for the construction of a rehabilitation centre.
The marathon will mainly focus on young people, who are both the leaders of tomorrow and the group most affected by drug abuse. Proceeds from the event will go towards funding the new rehab facility.
