DJ Yugoe Drops New Afrohouse Single “Joy to the City” Featuring Tahle wedzinza

Afrohouse producer DJ Yugoe has released a fresh new single titled “Joy to the City”, featuring Harare-based vocalist Tahle we Dzindza.

Speaking to Skyz Metro, DJ Yugoe real name Dumisani Magalane shared that the song initially began as an instrumental before he decided to bring in a vocalist. He saw Tahle as the perfect match, describing her voice as elevating the project to new heights.

“What inspired my song is that personally l’m a AfroHouse producer, l’m a consumer of Afrohouse music and l worked on an instrumental and after listening to that instrumental l felt like Tahle is the perfect vocalist to work with,” said Yugoe.

He credited the success of the track to support from organisations such as the British Council, Swiss Embassy, K Media, and Terminal One, who were instrumental in helping him realise his “Joy to the City” project.

“Through the help of the British council, Swiss embassy, Terminal one and K media, we managed to put out this project, we reached out and they came through,” he said.

Yugoe encouraged upcoming artists to stay consistent, network, and stay visible as “you never know who’s watching.” He also revealed that he is currently working on more music, with collaborations underway with Teddy Music from Plumtree and Noma from Bulawayo.

The Plumtree-based producer cited Afrohouse legends DJ Fresh, DJ Shimza, and Black Coffee as his inspirations. The track, now available on all digital streaming platforms, marks a significant step in Yugoe’s growing music career.
