The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), in partnership with Climate Preneur, will host the “Green Business Sustainable Expo” from 16 to 18 September 2025 under the theme “Towards a Green Economy.”
In an interview with Skyz Metro FM, Kwanele Hlabangane, Director of Climate Preneur, said the expo will bring together players in the climate sector to discuss climate change through the lens of opportunity rather than disaster.
Hlabangane called on businesspeople to attend and learn how to align operations with sustainable practices
“Climate change is here and we can’t debate whether it is there” he said, “We need to start talking about the opportunities it brings apart from it being a challenge”.
Meanwhile, Ntando Moyo, the ZITF marketing manager encouraged youth participation, stressing the need for the younger generation to drive climate action.
“My main interest is to see young people taking a lead in this in terms of identifying opportunities cause we have issues of unemployment in this country”, said Moyo.
The three-day conference will tackle different thematic areas. Day 1will focus on urban cities, which contribute an estimated 80% of greenhouse gas emissions and waste, discussing sustainable urban development.
Day 2 will explore mining and agriculture, particularly climate-smart farming and mitigation strategies, and day 3 will centre on tourism and bioconservation, encouraging responsible travel and environmental preservation.
