Cabinet Highlights Progress in Binga Development Projects

The government says major progress has been made under the Binga Development Initiative, a program launched by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to uplift livelihoods in the district.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere told cabinet on Tuesday that projects completed so far include the rehabilitation of Binga Airstrip, the construction of new student and staff facilities at Binga Industrial Training College and the opening of two new government boarding schools.
“Cabinet noted progress regarding the implementation of the Binga Development Initiative, a brainchild of His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa focusing on a number of transformative projects for the Binga District.
The Initiative resonates with the mantra ” Leaving no one and no place behind ,” and progress to date is as follows; construction of additional buildings for staff and students welfare at the Binga Industrial Training College, and the establishment of two additional government boarding schools in the district,” he said.
Minister Muswere confirmed that health services have also improved, with two new clinics completed at Mabobolo and Manyanda, the rehabilitation of Binga District Mortuary, and the donation of two ambulances by the President.
Meanwhile, on agriculture, irrigation projects at Gwayi-Shangani and Bulawayo Kraal are now functional, while the revival of Muchesu Mine has already begun attracting international investment.
