Zimbabwean winger Daniel Msendami has officially joined South African football giants Orlando Pirates in a permanent move from Marumo Gallants, the club confirmed yesterday.

The 25‑year‑old Warriors international, who impressed with his pace and direct play at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, heads to the Betway Premiership club as part of a double signing that also includes defender Mpho Chabatsane. Both players will link up with the Pirates squad as they prepare for the second half of the 2025/26 season

In a statement, Orlando Pirates described the deal as permanent and professional, thanking Marumo Gallants for smooth negotiations and saying they expect Msendami to bring depth and competition on the wings.

Msendami’s rise has been notable, a product of Zimbabwe’s Highlanders academy, he impressed in Botswana and South Africa before earning national team honours. His move follows a solid AFCON campaign, even though Zimbabwe exited at the group stage.

For Orlando Pirates, the acquisition adds attacking firepower as they chase domestic glory and look to close the gap on defending champions in South Africa’s top-flight.
